The "Suite Galante", is dedicated to duets for flute and alto flute. It contains a collection of works by French clavichordists such as Louis-Claude Daquin, François Couperin and Rameau. These works demonstrate Thomas Hamori’s keen sense for the French music and are particularly thoughtful in their adaption to this unusual form.
The alto flute, like the piccolo and bass flute, belongs to the instrument family of the flutes. It is tuned to G and is slightly larger than the normal flute.
This notebook offers the rare opportunity to experience the harmony of flute and alto flute and at the same time to become familiar with musical treasures of the so-called “gallant style” of the 18th century.
